MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS - WHITE WALLS
BEHIND THE SCENES
With 3 MTV Video Music Awards under there belt, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis turned to the crew at VODA Studios to help produce their latest hit video, White Walls; the beginning of a relationship with a team that works as hard as they do.
By managing production, locations, logistics, building the crews and outfitting the team with state of the art equipment. The team at VODA was able to provide the Macklemore team with the freedom needed to do what they do best, create & perform. After two weeks of pre-production, fourteen days of shooting and endless hours of post-production and finishing, VODA Studios is proud to share the music video for White Walls from Macklemore’s album The Heist.
Launching a ground breaking product comes with a multitude of details and a constant stream of adaptation. That is where the creative powerhouses at Tag: recently partnered with VODA to shoot the campaign for Motorola’s new MOTO X line of smart phones. In this balance of successful marketing, VODA held down the production so that the agency could focus of the big picture.
VODA recently partnered with New York based agency ANOMALY and photographer Gus Powell to capture Carhartt’s winter line of Quick Duck Coats. The North West was the perfect background for capturing ‘real’ people building ‘real’ projects. From locations, equipment and building supplies to catering and production, the production crew at VODA crossed all the T’s and dotted all the i’s. Lets just say VODA can made it snow on 80 degree days.
Our friends down the street at Burton teamed up with VODA Studios on their post production to present the second part of STREET [Snowboarding], an urban snowboarding film featuring some of todays top riders. Burton took advantage of the technology available in our editing facilities to cut and finish the piece. We are looking forward to joining up with them again in the studio and of course, out in the backcountry.
VODA and GQ Magazine spent time with the most iconic figure in Seattle sports. Quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks took time away from his busy schedule to work with photographer Ben Watts to show off fall fashion around the city of Seattle. The production team at VODA took care of GQ and Wilson as they hit countless neighborhood hotspots and classic northwest locations. Accounting for permits, RV’s, crew support, and photography equipment, VODA made sure the magazine and the star quarterback were taken care of in style and comfort.
VODA was already knee deep filming the White Walls music video for the hit group when iconic magazine Rolling Stone asked us to assure a smooth assignment for photographer Peter Yang when he arrived in Seattle to photograph Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. With our killer production team running multiple productions is nothing new for us at VODA. We think the shots speak for themselves.
